Types of Fish: Native Cutthroat, Rainbow, Brown, Mountain Whitefish
Wade/Float: Two sections are wade only. Above Lyons Bridge and below Ennis, You can use a boat to access but can’t fish from it. The rest of the river is open to float fishing.
Excellent fishery with 4000 to 6000 fish per mile. 70 miles from Yellowstone National Park, historic Virginia City 14 miles away, Ennis lake for recreation, Madison and Gravely Mtn ranges for hiking and driving.
Clark Fork River, Montana
Types of Fish: Cutthroat, Whitefish, Brown and Rainbow trout
Wade/Float: Both are accessible from many public access points.
Close to Missoula, with a wide range of fishing situations due to how long the river is and changes in size from top to bottom. Above Missoula it is a medium size river meandering east to west with log jams. As Rock creek, Blackfoot and Bitterroot rivers empty into the river It gets very large and wide.
